HOW TO LIMIT BANDWIDTH USAGE

Now that many internet providers give a bandwidth cap, it's time for you to learn how to limit your bandwidth usage to maintain a fast internet connection. So, how do we minimize our bandwidth usage?

1. STOP ALL AUTO-UPDATES.
The most common auto-updates are your anti-virus and the windows update. For windows, check your updates by going to your CONTROL PANEL>>System and Security>>Windows Update. When you reached windows update look for the windows update setting and turn off the auto update by selecting "never update" or "check for updates but allow me to choose whether to download".
For your anti-virus, check the settings and turn off your auto updater.

If you are using windows 8, go to download over metered-connection and turn it off.
You may also click the windows key + R and type WF.msc then click inbound connections. Disable all updates for apps. Click outbound connections and disable "core networking - DNS(UPD-out)".

2. ADD EXTENSIONS TO GOOGLE CHROME
Adblockers and Data Compressors are valuable extensions to your chrome. They are free to download and will help you limit your usage. Adblocker blocks all ads which may add internet usage. Data compressor will lessen the data needed to access a website.

3. AVOID VIRUSES and MALWARES
Always fully scan your computer for viruses. It can slow down your internet connection and send data over the iternet.

4. AVOID P2P downloads (Peer to Peer download)
Avoid torrents as much as possible because they send more files than direct download. It is because while you are downloading a file, you are also sending them to other users.

5. GET an Alarm clock and time your self while using the internet. Most of the time, you will forget the time while surfing the net or playing online games.

6. Download some free but safe bandwidth meters, they are avaiable in google web stores to check your usage.
